The skiing season has begun! We spent the last October weekend in Soelden, watching women's and men's GS races, enjoying the sunny weather and skiing a little.
More shooting with my friends Luka and Mary. First thing in the morning we drove to a valley off Tolmin to visit a chapel at Javorca in a picturesque setting below the mountains. Then we headed south, to the Karst, enjoying the warm sun and shooting vineyards and smoketree.
After flying over the Julian Alps in the morning, we drove to the Vrata valley to shoot the Pericnik waterfall. There was nobody around and we could set our tripods anywhere without having "ghosts" in the photos. Afterwards we headed to the Aljaz hut for some gulash (they didn't have jota) and to Zasip near Bled to witness beautiful alpenglow on the Karavanke range.
If you didn't already know: a flight over the Julian Alps is spectacular! A small Cessna took us over Bled and Bohinj to Mt. Triglav, which we circled a couple of times before heading around Mt. Spik and over Vrata and Krma valleys back to Bled and to the Lesce airport. I'm still in awe! :) The weather wasn't fantastic and we had to shoot through the (dirty) windows, but the experience was awesome.
Mid-October sunny Sunday was perfect to explore Krma, an alpine valley surrounded by high peaks. Foliage had already started to turn red and the hike up the valley was invigorating in the fresh air. The day ended with a drive past Sorica, one of the most picturesque villages in Slovenia.
A group of friends and I spent a weekend in one of the cabins on Velika planina. I only took a few photos on the way back to the valley the last day when the sun finally broke the cloud cover.
