Orebić is the main town of the Pelješac peninsula and is dominated by a mountain called Sv. Ilija. One day the peak was shrouded in a strange-looking cloud.

No signs of dark clouds in the other direction.

The water in the harbor is unusually green. It was funny seeing a few locals fishing on the main pier!

One day we drove to the village of Lovište at the very end of the peninsula. The sunset was really that red.

The coast beyond Lovište is not really suitable for swimming as the rocks are rugged and it's difficult to get into the water.
B17-70813-Loviste-19-HDR.jpg
The rocks are quite suitable for photography though. :)

Another village for another late afternoon excursion. This time it was Žuljana. The coast was quite rugged here, too, and beautiful just the same.

Rocks and pines.

There are some nice coves among the rocks where you can sunbathe in privacy. :)

There were quite a few sea urchins on the seabed - another sign that the water is very clear.

A paradise for snorkelers.

The old town is typically Mediterranean with narrow cobbled streets and claustrophobic squares.
