We only got the car around 11 a.m. so our exploration started in the harshest part of the day. We drove south, past Puerto del Rosario, and made our first stop at Costa de Antigua. The shore with cliffs is impressive.

A bit more to the south there are the salt pans of Las Salinas. The light was terrible but at least there weren't many visitors so we had the place almost to ourselves.

A whale skeleton. It's huge. Compare it with Peter, who is "only" 195 cm tall. ;)

We then drove on a dirt road along the coast. Peter was happy. :)

No, I had no intention of going there anyway. ;)

Returning to the north we stopped at the Corralejo dunes. Yellow sand and turquoise sea, it was a beautiful sight.

One of the many beaches along the coast.

The water is not very warm and the wind blows all the time, so we opted to just sit on the beach for a while and leave swimming for some other time.

Yep, the water is cold.
