In late July my brother Peter and I climbed Triglav, Slovenian highest mountain. It was a long, strenuous climb that took us 14 hours total (many photo stops, hehe) but the experience and the views were definitely worth it.
Kamniski vrh - again in the evening, hoping for some nice light. I also made a few stitched panoramas. I ran most of the descent as it was getting dark quickly, and besides, it was good exercise! :)
On a whim we decided one late afternoon to treat ourselves to some more soured milk so we packed our backpacks and sped to Kisovec where we started another climb to Velika planina. We were just in time for some spectacular clouds, sun rays and fog, which followed. By the time we got back to the car, it was dark. Yes, soured milk was delicious! :)
Despite the unpredictable weather we decided to hike to Velika planina. It was cloudy when we started, sunny for a few moments when we reached the hut, but the descent was rainy! We got totally wet but who cares? It was a blast! :)
Mt. Kamniski vrh used to be one of my favorite short hikes. It's just high enough for a quick training climb and the views from the top are great - weather permitting, of course. On July 1, it was very humid and for a moment my friend Manca and I even thought we were going to get soaked by rain. After a few minutes at the top we hurried by to the valley, just making it before the dark fell.
